Principles of Reiki

Dr. Mikao Usui, formulated the 5 principles of Reiki, which every Reiki channel must practice.

During the first level Reiki class, a session is devoted to explain these 5 principles of Reiki.

  1. Just for today, I will live in the attitude of gratitude:

We must be thankful for what we have been provided with, rather than compare with others. We must live in abundance of everything. By living in gratitude we will move away from the viscious circle of scarcity to the grand spiral of abundance.

  2. Just for today I will not worry:

Worry is a worthless emotion. Nothing can be achieved by worrying. It only drains our energy. When we are in a worrying state we forget the great & grand plan of the creator and that we are a part of HIM. Accepting everything as they are and be thankful.

  3. Just for today I will not anger:

Anger is a needless emotion. Anger in destructive to our inner peace and harmony. Anger manifests when our desires are not fulfilled. We must not control the anger but allow it go out of our system, but we must watchful of our words and actions, when we are angry. Anger lasts a few seconds but hurts us and others for a life time.

  4. Just for today I will do my work honestly:

By being honest to ourself, gives us a lot of piece and joy.

To work honestly means to live in truth. Leading a truthful life beings us closer to the Divine. Doing work honestly brings in a lot of peace and harmony, to us and to others.

  5. Just for today I will show love to all living beings:

We have all come form one source and all living being are inter-connected. When we love others, they too will love us. The world will literaly become a paradise. Our love should extend beyond our family members, to all human beings, all animals, plants, insects etc.

Sincere practise of Reiki will make us a complete and and a better human being thus leading to a great society and a wonderful planet.
